Fiber technology, which provides high bandwidth in data, sound and video traffic in communication networks, as well as in new applications, has reached to the end user. FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) and PON (Passive Optical Networks) technologies, which reduce costs, have changed our lives. Reaching further distances and even more users with each passing day is aimed with this structure. In this study, topologies that could be developed to increase the performance of optical communication which is compatible with power budget calculation in theory with OptiSystem 12.0 simulation program in passive optical networks are examined. The effects of electro-optical components which are added to the system on PON are analysed through utilising BER (Bit Error Rate) diagrams, time domain and spectrum outputs.
